Actress Evan Rachel Wood is reportedly sinking her teeth into a new beau – True Blood co-star Alexander Skarsgard.

The sexy star was recently linked to E.R. actor Shane West, but has moved on to Swedish hunk Skarsgard after meeting him on the set of the hit vampire TV show, according to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

The pair has been spotted enjoying a string of dates, including a soccer match and a boat trip.

Wood even jetted into Louisiana over the weekend (05-06Sep09) to keep the actor company during breaks from filming the Straw Dogs remake.

The red-head has previously dated Marilyn Manson and was linked to her The Wrestler co-star Mickey Rourke.

Legendary producer Dino DeLaurentiis has confirmed the movie is his number one priority, after director Robert Rodriguez cancelled plans to rework the film with his girlfriend Rose McGowan in the starring role.

Legally Blonde movie maker Robert Luketic is now in the hot seat, and Lorenze De Maio, the boss of De Laurentiis’ production company, reveals stars like Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood are vying to play the sexually adventurous space traveller.

De Maio tells Daily Variety, “Every young actress in town is interested in playing that Barbarella part.”

Evan Rachel Wood’s agents are reportedly desperate to win back a number of film roles the actress turned down to work on stalled Broadway musical Spider-man as rumours continue to swirl about the troubled stage show.

The Wrestler star was due to tread the boards in the new production early next year, but work on the play has been suspended as producers at Hello Entertainment battle financial problems.

Claims the Spider-Man spectacular, which will feature music written by U2 stars Bono and The Edge, has been scrapped altogether were blasted by the show’s bosses on Wednesday amid rumours the cast and crew had been released from their contracts.

A spokesperson for the production told WENN: “Hello Entertainment is aware of the speculation about the future of Spider-Man on Broadway and is re-confirming that the plan is to resume production shortly and preview on February 25th, 2010 at the Hilton Theatre when cash flow issues have been resolved.”

But according to the New York Post, Wood will not be part of the line-up when the musical resumes production.

The newspaper alleges the actress snubbed several film roles to commit to the New York show, but now Spider-Man appears to be in trouble, she wants to claim those projects back.

An insider tells the publication, “As far as they’re concerned, it’s over. She’s available for other work.”

Evan Rachel Wood is convinced she was destined to romance shock rocker Marilyn Manson – because a fortune teller told her all about her tempestuous relationship with the Rock Is Dead singer before she’d even met him.

The actress, who has made it a habit to read friends’ fortunes, decided to seek out spiritual help two years ago when her love life was in a slump.

She reveals, “She (the numerologist) was like, ‘Your whole life is about to change… You’re about to go down the first drop on the rollercoaster into a whole ‘nother world. So get ready. Somebody’s about to come into your life. You’re gonna know who it is and you’re gonna have to heal them. And it’s gonna be a really significant thing in your life.’

“Two months later, my whole life has changed and here is this person.”

The odd couple dated until November 2008, when they split. They reunited briefly earlier this year.

Evan Rachel Wood has credited her portrayal as Mickey Rourke’s daughter in The Wrestler with helping to resolve estrangement issues with her own dad.

The actress admits the role made her face her own family problems and now she and her father have never been closer – in fact they’re planning to star opposite one another in a family production of Romeo & Juliet in North Carolina.

Wood insists such a project would never have been possible before she played Rourke’s estranged daughter in The Wrestler.

She tells i-d magazine, “All these issues came up that I didn’t know I still had until I was forced to go there and it totally reconnected me with him (father).

“Everything that’s been pent-up over the years suddenly comes out, then you don’t talk for a while, and then you slowly reconcile.

“There wasn’t any closeness. We had to get to know each other again. Getting to know him now, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, you are so cool.’”

Her literary love also inspired ex-lover Marilyn Manson, who penned the song Heart-Shaped Glasses in tribute to his girlfriend.

She says, “My apartment is covered with different kinds of heart-shaped glasses. My goal was to bring them back.”
